About
El Dorado Hills Little League
(North & South)
El Dorado
Hills Little League (EDHLL) was first chartered in 1986 as
Oakridge Little League.
EDHLL North
& South are one of 15 local leagues that make up
District 54. Our district is one part of the California Section,
which represents one part of the four Regions that make up
Little League.
Each year,
EDHLL North & South must apply for league charters,
and are held accountable to the rules and regulations of Little
League Baseball as defined by Little League International Headquarters
located in Williamsport, PA. We operate under an established
constitution and by-laws approved by Little League Headquarters.
Every September 1, we start a new season under
the direction of a newly elected Board
of Directors. The new board then elects a League President
and five other mandatory Board Positions as designated by Little
League Headquarters. The President of the League regulates the
selection of managers and coaches, and the assignment of players
to each team. The President does not regulate player assignment
for the AAA, Major, Junior, and Senior divisions. Players in those
divisions are selected through a competitive draft. Players in
the Major division stay with the team that drafts them until reaching
the maximum playing age for that division.
For the 2003-2004
season, both EDHLL divisions (North & South), will be run
with one Board of Directors. Beginning in September, 2004, two
Boards will be elected. One Board will govern the EDH North League
and the second Board will govern the EDH South League. The
Rescue & Buckeye school district boundaries will determine
which division of the league you will play in.
Both the EDHLL
leagues have eight divisions of play.
The program is designed to introduce and teach the fundamental
skills of baseball on a progressive level.
